Applications Open for 2020-21 Peach Seed Residency for Emerging Editors

Applications are now open for the 2020-21 Peach Seed Residency for Emerging Editors, an annual apprenticeship for Buffalo-based teens entering their senior year of high school. We give our residents total creative freedom to develop their editorial skills by curating a monthly feature in our online journal by writers and artists aged 12 to 18. Peach Seeds read and respond to submissions from young writers and artists during our magazine's open reading periods, work with young writers and artists to refine their work, and occasionally book teen creatives to perform at our Episodes Reading Series.

To apply, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, June 26, 2020. In addition to general contact information, you will be asked to enter:

  • Reference: The name and email address of one teacher, coach, coworker, or other adult who we can contact for more information. If you do not have an adult in your life who fits this description, please respond "n/a."

  • Resume: A simple document outlining any work experience or extracurricular activities in which you've been involved throughout your high school experience. These do not need to be directly through your school.

  • Writing Sample: This program is geared toward young writers. Please upload either 3-5 poems, one short story, or one piece of creative nonfiction all in one document.

  • Why do you want to be our next Peach Seed? Don't overthink it; in one paragraph, tell us what working on a magazine, learning how to edit work, and/or uplifting other young creative people would mean to you.

Applicants will be contacted in July. For questions, please reach out to Rachelle at peachmgzn@gmail.com.
