After two years of inviting guest editors to read fiction submissions during our open reading periods, we are beyond elated to share that Richard Chiem, heartcrushing fiction writer and longtime friend of Peach, has joined our team as fiction editor!
Richard is the author of You Private Person (Sorry House Classics, 2017), and the novel King of Joy (Soft Skull, 2019), which was longlisted for the 2020 PEN Open Book Award. He was named a 2019 Writer to Watch by The Los Angeles Times. He has taught at Hugo House and Catapult. He currently lives in Seattle.
In addition to previously guest-editing fiction for us during our January 2020 open reading period, Richard read for our Episodes Reading Series and had his short story collection You Private Person highlighted in Peach Picks, our former micro-reviews column in Buffalo's The Public, by Peach's founding fiction editor Matthew Bookin.
