Crossover Episodes is the official virtual spinoff of our longstanding Episodes Reading Series in which we invite a second journal, press, or literary collective to team up with us on a mashup-style evening of readings, games, and other performances. We launched the series earlier this year to keep some of our events virtual now that others are transitioning back to IRL.
The 2022 season of Crossover Episodes is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered locally by Arts Services Inc. Crossover Episodes is also made possible due to a partnership with Just Buffalo Literary Center.
About In the Mood
In The Mood Magazine is a pop culture journal about the things we like to watch. Editors Gabrielle Marceau, Sennah Yee, and Kay Evans-Stocks want to know: "What are your viewing habits, highs, and hang-ups? Why do you look away and then look again? Why are you so obsessed with the exact shade of pink of Suki’s car in 2 Fast 2 Furious? Or the look on Marnie’s face after she’s fired the shotgun?" In the Mood launched a few years ago with its incredible film recommendation generator, and expanded last year with the release of its first issue of a companion literary journal that reimagines film criticism as poems, stories, short essays, comics, and more. In the Mood's fifth issue, the Horror Issue, will be released in early October.
About the readers
Cason Sharpe is a writer based in Toronto. His first book of short stories, Our Lady of Perpetual Realness, was published by Metatron Press in 2017, and his subsequent writing can be found in various places in print and online.
EJ Kneifel, friend of a friend, revs editor at The Puritan, co-creator of P8s, ORANGING, CATCH. EJ's chapbook is VIO-LETS is coming. glup and glub. flup!! @ejkneifel
Emmalea Russo's poems and writings on film and visual art have appeared in many venues, including Artforum, BOMB, and Granta. She is the author of G (Futurepoem, 2018), Wave Archive (Book*hug, 2019), and Confetti (Hyperidean, 2022).

Ky Capstick is a queer writer and web developer. They live in Toronto with their basset shepherd mix Moira.
Vannessa Barnier is a Toronto-based poet, collaborator, instigator, and community organizer. Vannessa facilitates writing workshops, hosts the open mic series, Legible Intelligibles, and is the author of SAMPLE PLATTER (Gap Riot Press, 2021).
