Peach Welcomes Yaz Lancaster

We are so psyched to share that Yaz Lancaster has joined Team Peach as our new visual arts editor! Yaz will be taking charge of our monthly First Friday visual arts feature, helping us book visual artists for our (currently virtual) Episodes Reading Series, and tons of other cool shit.

Yaz is a poet, violinist, composer, interdisciplinary visual artist, and previous Peach contributor. With degrees in violin performance and poetry from New York University, their work focuses on practices aligned with relational aesthetics, fragments and collage, and anti-oppression. Their work has been called "warm and crunchy." Yaz loves chess, horror movies, and bubble tea.

Check them out online: Twitter, Instagram, and website.

Inspired by "First Friday" in Buffalo, a day when many art galleries and museums offer free or discounted admission, our monthly First Friday feature was launched in 2018 by our first visual arts editor C. C. Camuglia to highlight more visual artists in our journal, anthologies, and reading series. The feature was launched simultaneously with the featured artist component of our Episodes Reading Series, in which we invite previous visual art contributors to install micro-galleries and/or sell their work at our events.

Stay tuned for Yaz's First Friday selections and other contributions!

Welcome, Yaz!
